BOONVILLE -  Mr. Sherrill Linville Kimmer, 88, of Church Music Road passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 at his home.  He was born July 1, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Charles “Charlie” and Pearl Parks Kimmer.  Mr. Kimmer was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 30 years of service as a welder.  He was also a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, loved NASCAR, and loved working with his hands.  He was known throughout the community for his willingness to stop whatever he was doing to help his neighbors and friends.  Mr. Kimmer was a loving husband and father, especially loved his grandchildren, and always enjoyed spending time with them.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Zola Oliver, Eva Parker, Jenny Henderson, brothers, Kenneth Kimmer, Bobby Kimmer, Junior Kimmer.   Surviving are his beloved wife of 69 years, Mattie Vestal Kimmer; his daughters, Sheron Church (deceased), Lennette Kimmer Smith, and husband, Jerry I. Smith, Jr.; his son, Tracy Kimmer and wife Natalie H. Kimmer; grandchildren, Sheryl Ashley, Jerry I. Smith III, Nikki Smith, Tyler Kimmer, Luke Kimmer, Ryan Kimmer; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Reynolds and Frances Vestal.  The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM Sunday at Shady Grove Baptist Church.   His funeral Service will follow the visitation at 4 PM Sunday in Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Benfield officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
