Stanley C. Sweetser

Stanley C. Sweetser, 81 of Yadkinville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Mt. Valley Hospice. He was the devoted husband of Carolyn M. Sweetser (Myers) for 43 years. Born in Hyannis, (Cape Cod) MA, Stan was the son of the late Stanley R. and Betty Susan (Swanson) Sweetser of Dennisport, MA. Stan graduated from Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School in 1963 where he was very active in sports.

Stan, Carolyn and Drury lived in many states while he pursued his career as a furniture salesman and finally settled in Yadkinville. He was an ordained Minister and had a church following on Cape Cod for a time.

In addition to his wife, Stan is survived by his daughter, Drury and her husband, Jeremy Corley, their two sons, Matthew and Luke; his daughter, Lisa M. and her husband, Paul Gage of Barnstable, MA; his son, Seth B. and his wife, Kim of Maine and his daughter Heidi; a sister, Dianne I. Toolas of Brewster; two brothers, Paul E. Sweetser of Dennisport, MA and William Molnar of Canyon County, CA; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Thursday, April 9, 2026. A funeral service will be held at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church on April 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon at the church put on by the ladies of the church. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Sweetser family.
