Thelma Mae Owens Smith

Thelma Mae Owens Smith, 82, passed away on Friday November 10, 2023. She was born April 26, 1941 to the late Earl Owens and Stella Viers Phipps. She was a faithful member of Oak Level Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith loved to mow her yard and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jackie Smith. Surviving are her children Donna (Darryl) Church, Rev. Wesley (Sandra) Smith; grandchildren Chaston Church, Brandon (Lindsey) Church; great grandchild Elijah Church; sister Gail Belcher; brother James (Rachel) Owens; several nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday November 14, 2023 at Oak Level Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at Oak Level Baptist Church by Rev. James Hall and Rev. Keith Wood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff at Hugh Chatham Hospital ICU and the Woltz Hospice Home for the loving care given to Mrs. Smith.
