Velma "Violet" Woods Moxley

Boonville – Velma “Violet” Woods Moxley, 87, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024. She was born March 3, 1937 to the late James and Velma Woods. Violet loved spending time with her family and also her church family. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mozelle Nail, Bessie Weatherly, Essie King; brothers, J.R. Woods and Millard Woods. She is survived by her husband, Donald Reuben Moxley; children, Bob (Debbie) Shepherd, Keith (Diane) Shepherd, Cynthia Duncan, Kenneth (Debbie) Shepherd, Adriane (Michael) Hill; grandchildren, Steven (Rebecca) Duncan, Tyler (Elspeth) Shepherd, Lauren (Clay) Carmichael, Derek (Meredith) Simmons, Ashley (Justin) Markley, Jake (Shyanne) Brown, Cody Hill, Jackson Hill; great grandchildren, Autumn, Stella, Eleanor; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2024 at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Phillip Link, the Rev. Tyler Shepherd, and Jackson Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
