Vernon Emery Wright

A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at New Patterson Grove Faith Church, 3432 Forbush Rd., East Bend.  

Mr. Vernon Emery Wright, 76, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025. He was born in Forsyth County on September 20, 1948 to Emery Wright and Carrie Lee Hutchens Wright. Vernon was a retired long haul truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars and motorcycles. Vernon loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. He will be missed by everyone who had the special privilege to know him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Vernon David Wright; brothers, Neil, John, Hennery, and Everette Wright; sisters, Virgie Leath, Elizabeth Handcock, Newell Emery Wright, and Carrie Lee Hutchens Wright; and special service dog, Rockey D. Wright “Snowman”. He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Gail Wright; second wife, Kathy Wright; step children, Jennifer (Randy) Barron and Angel Marie Brooks; grandchildren, Chris, Josh, and Travis Wright, David and Sierra Hutchens, Michael and Hailey Hutchens, and Dylan Barron; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Hunter, and Watson Emery Hutchens; brother, Paul Wright; and special friends, Rick Hucks, Joseph and Tammie Lynn Carter, Tyler Fishel, Trish Armel, Mary Franchise Liles, Marie Rufe, Mike Poore, Larry Stover, Don Taylor, Dawn Childress, Joe Norman, John Williams, Pete Smith, Jamie Walker, Benny and Johnny Woodruff, T.J. Mayes, and Aimee Whitt. 

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their loving and compassionate care given to Mr. Wright.
