Wesley Clifford Winters, Jr.

Mr. Wesley Clifford Winters, Jr., 73, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024. He was born on October 17, 1950 in Surry County to the late Wesley Clifford Winters, Sr., and Margaret Vestal Winters. Wesley enjoyed collecting antique items and baseball cards. He also loved riding down backroads, as well as going to the beach and to the mountains. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Mallard; and a brother, Freddie Winters. Wesley is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Brenda Teague Winters; daughters, Wendy (Jeff) Harris, Holly (Luke) Money; grandchildren, Hope (Dean) Martin, Brock Money, Carter Money, and Sara Kayte Money; step great-grandchildren, Zeke and Aislinn Martin; and sisters-in-law, Dianne Haymore and Pam (Ronald) Bohannon, Karen (Dean) Swaim; and several nieces and nephews.  

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Richmond Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Luke Money and Dr. Jon Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 – 4:00 PM at Richmond Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Local Missions – Baptist Men, 2205 Richmond Hill Church Rd, Boonville, NC 27011. Memorials can also be made to Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Woltz Hospice Home, Novant Health Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology, and lastly, Wesley’s special caretaker, Cassie, for all of her love and care over Wesley and the family.
