William "Bill" Elijah Clarkson

Mr. William “Bill” Elijah Clarkson, 91, passed away on December 28, 2025. He was born on August 14, 1934 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late William Abner Clarkson and Mary Humphries Clarkson. Bill was a member of Courtney Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, socializing with family and friends, and playing bingo. Bill was the oldest of nine children, some in Heaven and some on Earth. Jim, Carl, Roy, Pat, Jeanie, Donna, Bonnie, and Irene. Bill was a proud Navy Veteran and retired after 20 years of service. Following his service in the Navy, Bill worked at Ingersol-Rand in Mocksville, North Carolina for an additional 20 years. 

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Clarkson; his second wife, Peggy Joyner Clarkson; a son, Timothy W. Clarkson; and a granddaughter, Emmily Clarkson. He is survived by his children, Mark (Lorie) Clarkson and Stacy (Sharon) Clarkson; grandchildren, Joshua Clarkson, Adam Clarkson, Seth (Megan) Clarkson, Tyler Clarkson, Timothy Clarkson, Jack Clarkson; step grandsons, Travis Disher and Josh Disher; great grandchildren, Callie and Jonah; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 3:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 – 3:00PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville.
