William "Bill" Eugene Hutchens

William “Bill” Eugene Hutchens, 63, passed away on June 23, 2023. He was born on August 27, 1959 to Dallas Robert Hutchens, Sr. and Hazel Gertrude Hutchens. Bill was a member of Gospel Way Baptist Church. He served as a CNA II at different facilities for many years. Bill also enjoyed fishing, as well as supporting the Atlanta Braves. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Sue Hutchens, and a brother, Dallas Robert Hutchins, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Fernita Hutchens; sons, Dicky (Gail) Hutchens, BJ (Cassandra) Hutchens, Jason Hutchens; grandchildren, Casey and Kelsey Hutchens; Great-grandchildren, Piper Ferguson, Paisley Driver; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Cooper; a sister-in-law, Shirley Hutchins; step-grandchildren, Justin Choplin, Austin Choplin, Anthony Driver and Meghan Driver; and several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 2:00PM at Gospel Way Baptist Church. Burial will follow in church cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 6:00-8:00PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service. The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Health for their loving care towards Bill.
