William Doug Cheek

William Doug Cheek, 57, passed away on the 4th of September, 2026. He was born on December 29th, 1968 to Joseph and Betty Cheek. Doug worked for many years as a welder of Fuller Welding and Fabrications in Mocksville. In 1990, Doug answered the call of his country and went to serve in the Navy for four years. After the service, Doug would enjoy staying active by taking walks with his family, but his passion was cycling. He would ride his bicycle on mountain trails, the roads, and anywhere his bike could take him. It’s said that he put over 10,000 miles on his bike.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Jessie Cheek, and Betty Jean Colling Cheek.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Tamarah Cheek; son, Ryan (Eliza) Cheek; estranged daughter Brandy Rozmus, her husband Aaron, and their son Theodore.

The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to all of Doug’s friends and for the help and support they showed him over the difficult years. A private service will be held at a later date. The staff of Gentry Family Funeral Service will be serving the Cheek family.
