JONESVILLE- Mr. William Daniel “Dan” Wilhelm, 87, peacefully passed away, Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation. Dan was born June 5, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Ernest Hubert Wilhelm and Lucy Reece Wilhelm. Dan proudly served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960 and served as an Arlington Town Commissioner from 1981 to 1989. He is best remembered as the owner of Wilhelm Auto Upholstery in Arlington. After retirement, he took an interest in restoring old tractors and enjoyed driving one in the local parades as long as his health permitted. Being a lover of animals, he always had a cat around and enjoyed looking after them. He is survived by a son, Aric (Beth) Wilhelm; daughters, Charlotte Brown and Gail Moses; grandchildren, Rhett Brown, Hannah (Loren) Neal, Gabrielle and Sierra Moses; great-grandson, Ryder Neal; his sister, Ann Phillips of Palm Coast, Fla.; and the mother of his children, Jean C. Wilhelm. The family will receive friends at Charity Baptist Church, Boonville, NC from 2-3 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2022. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3 PM Wednesday with Rev. Marty Nixon officiating. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation and Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care and attention given to Dan or William as he was known during his stay there. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either, Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 968 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621 or Charity Baptist Church, 1500 Charity Church Road, Boonville, NC 27011.
