Wilma Cranfill

Wilma “Lee” Cranfill, 73 of Elkin passed away on October 28, 2026 at the SECU Hospice Care Center in Yadkinville. Lee was born September 26, 1953 in Transylvania County, NC, the daughter of the late Ray Buchanan and Margaret Ashe.

Some of the things Lee enjoyed were traveling in the Winnebago with Crow, sightseeing throughout the US, and when the opportunity presented itself, dancing! Lee had the most loving heart, not just for her family, but all those she met. She spent her working career as a caregiver. Helper, aide, nanny, nurse assistant, loving friend and mama, are all names that aptly described her.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny “Crow” Cranfill, her children Kristen Cash, Stephanie (Jason) Vestal, Ashley Albrecht, Donna Cranfill and John Cranfill, her grandchildren, Jonathan (Katie) Collins, Caden Allen, Morgan Cranfill, Kathryn Cranfill, Kolsen Vestal, Carter Cranfill, Caraelyn Gray, Cashlyn Gray, and Chaelyn Gray, sister Rhonda Christopher, brothers, Chris Buchanan, Darrell Buchanan, and Michael Buchanan and her step-mother, Ruby Buchanan.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Barbara Helms.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM l, Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Gentry Family Funeral Service if Jonesville. A celebration of life for Lee Cranfill will be conducted at 4:00 PM, in the Gentry Family Chapel, with Pastor Ritchie Doss officiating the service.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center and to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice – SECU Hospice Care Center in Yadkinville, for all care and support give to Lee and our family. And also to Jonathan and Katie Collins for the beautiful floral tribute.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017.
