Wrenn Calvin Walker

Boonville Mr. Wrenn Calvin Walker, 83, passed away surrounded by his family on September 9, 2022. He was born March 7, 1939 in Wilkes County to Ivory Calvin and Vera Michael Walker. He worked at Holcomb Repair Shop and later worked for Wake Forest University in the maintenance department until a car accident left him unable to work. Wrenn loved repairing and working on anything. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch, gardening, mowing, hunting, and fishing. In addition to his parents, Wrenn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Faw Walker; a granddaughter, Megan Wood; and four brothers, Roy, Ray, Verl, and Gwyn Walker. He is survived by five children, Roger (Jodie) Walker, Kim (Atwell) Cook, Dawn Edwards, Michael (Angie) Walker, and Wrenda (Emily) Walker; fourteen grandchildren, Blake (Desi) Wood, Corey (Kayla) Wood, Daniel (Destiny) Walker, Hannah (Tyler) Massey, Samantha (Phillip) Hall, Caleb (Brittany) Walker, Nichole (Brandon) Smith, Mindy (Travis) Painter, Brandon (Amber) Walker, Matthew (Liz) Cook, Joseph Cook, Mary Alice (Steven) Hamm, and Timothy (Faith) Cook; fourteen great-grandchildren, Mason, Morgan, Paige, Harvey, Brianna, Penley, Raymond, Ethan, Hunter, Brantley, Colton, Daylan, Carter, and Bryson; and two brothers, Gerald (Wanda) Walker and Randy Walker. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Tuesday September 13, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Jonas Parker and Travis Painter officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM Monday evening at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1500 Charity Church Road Boonville, NC 27011. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Twelve Oaks Nursing Center for the care given to Wrenn. Also, to Northern Hospital of Surry for the comfort you provided for him and the family.
