Zelma Swisher Eddleman

Zelma Jean Swisher Eddleman, 84, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026. Zelma was born on January 3, 1942, to the late Alvin “Ab” and Madge Long Swisher. She was a member of Turners Creek Baptist Church and worked at Unifi until her retirement. She loved to read and spend time with her husband. The two were always together, they spent many days at the coast with Roy catching fish and Zelma turning the pages of a good book.

In addition to her parents, Zelma was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Eddleman, her sisters; Nellie Wagoner, Mary Ruth Richardson, Lois Renegar and Phyllis Crook. Also preceded in death by step grandson, Bubba McEwen.

Surviving are her siblings, Nancy Steelman, Fred Swisher and Francis Swisher, Roy’s children; Teresa McEwen, Roy Neal (Michelle) Eddleman, Roy’s grandchildren; Shorty (Heather) McEwen, Maria (Trae) Hill and Roy’s great grandchildren; Jesse McEwen, Marshall McEwen and Jordan Hill and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Turners Creek Baptist Church from 2:00 to 3:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Scott Welch officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Turners Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 3216 Courtney-Huntsville Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
